What do Occupational Therapists do in disasters?
How do they contribute to recovery? How do they assist survivors?
Our goal is to enable people to participate successfully in the activities of everyday life that have meaning and purpose for them within their cultural context. In disaster situations, we aim to achieve this from the outset, through the emergency response stage and into longer term recovery and resilience building. We are guided by and work with survivors themselves.
This training program is an earthquake scenario providing a better understanding of the Disaster Response Framework through immersive edutainment.

Reality Learning provides Silver and Gold Courses. Silver is for individual, 24/7 access training; Gold is scheduled for groups with or without tutors. Both present real-life scenarios in which learners assist the Occupational Therapist to work with stakeholders in disaster situations so as to provide victims with treatment and solutions for independent living.
